Choose the guided tour that is most convenient for you and your group!

We offer three different guided tours at Oscarsborg, please see the descriptions below to find the tour that suits you and your expectations best.

1940 - 1 hour

During one hour you will learn about the events leading up to the Nazi attack on Norway the 9th of April 1940 and the sinking of the heavy cruiser “Blücher”, the Jeté (the underwater embankment), the main fortress and other fortifications. For this tour we charge NOK 2 000,-.

Historical tour– 1,5 hours

This tour gives an insight in the history of Oscarsborg fortress, the events leading up to the second world war, the sinking of the “Blücher”, the Jeté (the underwater embankment), the main fortress and all the other fortifications. For this tour we charge NOK 2 500,-.

Historical tour including the torpedo battery – 2 hours

This tour gives an insight in the history of Oscarsborg fortress, the events leading up to the second world war, the sinking of the “Blücher”, the Jeté (the underwater embankment), the main fortress and all the other fortifications. At last, but not least, you will explore the torpedo battery and hear the fascinating story about how the Commander senior grade Andreas Anderssen and his men, under Colonel Birger Eriksens command, managed to hit “Blücher” with two torpedoes, giving her the blow of death.

The torpedo battery was closed to the public during many years. Such a visit into this core of events in Norway’s history, will give you an experience we trust you never forget. For this tour we charge NOK 3 000,-.

 
The fee is pr. tour (up to 30 pax)

No matter which tour you choose, we have a maximum of 30 persons pr. guide. If you plan to attend with a larger group, please contact us and we will give you a special price.

Militaryforces and departments have special prices, please get in touch with us for more information on these.

School classes from the 9th grade and upwards are not charged for guided tours, because the topic is considered to be within the official Norwegian learning platform.

How to order the guided tour

You may call us, but we kindly ask you to send us an e-mail at: post@oscarsborgmuseum.no To be able to establish a valid confirmation for you, we need to know the following:

• Which date you prefer to come

• Which tour you would like

• What time you wish the tour to start

• The number of persons in your group

• Which language you prefer – English, German or Norwegian

• Your name and cellphone number

• Your e-mail address

• An address for invoicing, which will be sent you after the tour has taken place

Upon receiving this information, we will book your tour and establish a scheme which we forward to the e-mail address you have given us.
